My name is Alfred Williams, and the journey to creating P^2: The Pathways Project has been shaped by every path I’ve walked, personally, professionally, and as a parent.
As a former foster youth who later adopted my son through foster care, I have seen both sides of the system, the challenges, the triumphs, and the deep need for connection that so many young people carry. For over 15 years, I worked in mental and behavioral health, and even as a Riverside County DPSS social worker, serving youth in care and helping them navigate some of life’s toughest transitions.
My personal journey took another turn when my son was diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Through him, I began to see just how limited local opportunities were for neurodivergent youth to engage in social and emotional learning, especially in environments where they could truly belong.
That realization became the heartbeat of P^2: The Pathways Project. I wanted to create something that didn’t yet exist here in the Temecula Valley, a place where youth of all abilities and backgrounds can come together to learn, connect, and grow, surrounded by community support and encouragement.
My hope is simple: that P^2 becomes a pathway for young people to discover their potential, build confidence, and feel empowered to move forward, knowing they are not alone.
